Classes held at the CMU Robotics Academy in Pgh., PA All training is conducted at the National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC) in Pittsburgh, PA. The NREC is part of the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute, a world-renowned robotics organization, where you'll be surrounded by real-world robot research and commercialization. Web-based classes
Enjoy the convenience of taking Academy courses without leaving your own computer workstation. These courses focus on learning how to program robots that use the NXT Intelligent Brick controller. The NXT Professional Development courses are STEM-focused, and include methodologies for pedagogy. The ROBOTC for TETRIX online course teaches ROBOTC programming the NXT, using the NXT with the TETRIX platform, and offers insights and tips into mentoring an FTC team.

2012 Online Classes:
NOTICE: New Policy regarding online classes: We will not be offering classes for less than 8 registrants in an online class. If a class does not have enough registrants, we will ask if you would like to join a different session if one is available. We will not send out software or hardware until there are enough registrants in the class.

Teacher Training brought to your location
The Robotics Academy's qualified trainers can come to your site and offer classes for groups of teachers. The cost is $4000 plus expenses for up to 12 students for three days of classes. More than 12 students require a second trainer and increase the cost to $2000/day plus expenses. Total expenses are calculated prior to confirming the teaching dates.
You supply the training room, computers and robots (or robot kits) for the students as well as necessary utilities. In planning for necessary computers and robots, note that students are generally paired into twos. Call 412 681-7160 for more information.
