Web-based classes

Enjoy the convenience of taking Academy courses without leaving your own computer workstation.

NXT courses focus on learning how to program robots that use the NXT Intelligent Brick controller, are STEM-focused, and include methodologies for pedagogy.

The NXT-G Professional Development course provides teachers and coaches with a solid foundation for robot programming in the NXT-G language, and experience in troubleshooting common student mistakes. It also focuses on identifying and extracting academic value from the naturally occurring STEM situations encountered in robotics explorations.

The ROBOTC for TETRIX course teaches ROBOTC programming with an NXT, programming the NXT in the TETRIX platform, and offers insights and tips into mentoring an FTC team

VEX courses focus on learning how to program robots that use the VEX CORTEXrobotic systems using ROBOTC.

Teacher Training brought to your location
The Robotics Academy's qualified trainers can come to your site and offer classes for groups of teachers. The cost is $4000 plus expenses for up to 12 students for three days of classes. More than 12 students require a second trainer and increase the cost to $2000/day plus expenses. Total expenses are calculated prior to confirming the teaching dates.

You supply the training room, computers and robots (or robot kits) for the students as well as necessary utilities. In planning for necessary computers and robots, note that students are generally paired into twos. Call 412 681-7160 for more information.
